Laurel Springs is one of Camden County's smallest boroughs — about half a square mile of quiet, tree-lined streets tucked between Clementon and Stratford. It began life in the late 1800s as a Victorian health resort, drawing summer visitors to its namesake springs, and that origin still shows in the older character homes that line its established blocks. Walt Whitman spent summers recuperating at a farm just outside the borough during those years — a small piece of history for a small, close-knit town.

Today it's a settled residential community with a housing stock that runs practical and attainable. The borough carries a genuinely good supply of well-kept single-story ranch homes alongside its older Victorians and capes — a rare thing in a market this compact, and part of why one-level living is easier to find here than in most of the surrounding towns. Inventory is limited and well-priced homes tend to move quickly, so buyers who know the area watch it closely.

For a borough its size, the location does a lot of work. The White Horse Pike and the PATCO Speedline at nearby Lindenwold put Philadelphia inside a straightforward commute, and neighboring Somerdale and Gloucester Township round out this close-in corner of the county. Families here start at Laurel Springs School, the borough's own PK–6 elementary, continue to Samuel S. Yellin School in Stratford for grades 7–8, and finish at Sterling High School, the regional school that also serves Somerdale, Stratford, and Magnolia.
