Sturbridge Oaks Homes for Sale
Detached homes on Sawood, Sturbridge and Tiffany — ranchers, colonials and bi-levels built across a decade. Live from the MLS.
Living in Sturbridge Oaks
Sturbridge Oaks is a detached neighborhood in Gloucester Township that was built over roughly eleven years, from 1973 into the mid-1980s, and that long build window is the first thing to understand about it. Most communities in this township went up in one push, which is why they look the way they do — four plans repeating down the street. Sturbridge Oaks was assembled across a decade in which American builders changed their minds several times about what a house should be, and the streets show it.
What that means in practice is that the houses here genuinely differ from one another. Ranchers, colonials and bi-levels sit on the same streets, sizes run from about eleven hundred square feet up past twenty-five hundred, and bedroom counts go from three to five. A 1973 rancher and a 1984 bi-level in the same neighborhood are not variations on a theme — they are different houses for different buyers, at different price points, a hundred yards apart. Confirmed streets are Sawood Drive, Sturbridge Drive and Tiffany Place.
That variety is the reason to shop this community rather than a reason to avoid it. A buyer who wants one-floor living and a buyer who wants four bedrooms with a formal dining room can both find it here, in the same neighborhood, without one of them compromising. Almost nowhere else in Gloucester Township offers that inside a single subdivision — the newer communities are uniform by design, which is fine until the one plan they built isn't the plan you need.
The specification is consistent even where the styles are not. Lots run to roughly a quarter to four-tenths of an acre, fenced on many of them with room for a shed and a deck. Two-car garages, eat-in kitchens with islands, main-floor laundry, sidewalks throughout. Natural gas forced air, central air, public water and public sewer. Sprinkler systems turn up more often than the era would suggest. What separates one listing from another here is how far along the owner got with the mechanicals — a house from 1973 and a house from 1984 are on different clocks for roofs, heaters and windows, and that gap is wider in this community than in one built all at once.
For comparisons within the township: Country Oaks and Dresden Downs cover similar ground from the same era, and buyers looking specifically for one-floor living should also see Gloucester Township ranch homes, which pulls the ranchers out of every community at once rather than one at a time.
A note on the address: mail here goes out as Sicklerville 08081, and Sicklerville is a post office, not a municipality. Sturbridge Oaks is in Gloucester Township, on Gloucester Township taxes and services. See Gloucester Township 08081 for the rest of this end of the township, and the recently sold homes for where these are landing.
