Living in La Bonne Vie
La Bonne Vie is a condominium community in the western half of Voorhees Township, built between 1983 and 1987 off Lucas Lane. Its streets are all first names — Gina, Jennifer, Tracy, Sherry, Daniel, Michael, Babe and Oneil — and the community sits around landscaped courtyards with a community pool, backing to open ground on its eastern side.
The buildings themselves are the thing you will not forget. Every structure in La Bonnie Vie is an octagon — eight-sided pods with radial roofs, grouped in clusters around shared courtyards and parking. Look at the community from above and it reads like nothing else in the township. That geometry is not decoration; it shapes the units. Interiors here carry skylights, cathedral ceilings and angled rooms as a matter of course rather than as upgrades, and upper-level units in particular get volume that a conventional garden apartment of the same square footage simply cannot produce. One structure type in the community is even classified as a penthouse unit.
This is also, plainly, the most accessible way into Voorhees. Units run roughly 615 to 1,118 square feet, with one-bedroom, one-bath plans forming the bulk of the community and larger two-bedroom, two-bath layouts at the upper end. In the bigger plans the dining room is frequently used as a second bedroom, which is worth knowing when you are reading a listing. For a first-time buyer, someone relocating, or an owner who wants the township's address and schools without a house to maintain, there is not much else at this level in Voorhees.
What actually drives demand here is the location. La Bonne Vie is within walking distance of the PATCO Speedline, which puts Center City Philadelphia on a train rather than a commute, and the surrounding blocks hold the regional library, shopping, banks, restaurants, fitness clubs and a movie theater. Exterior grounds, roof and pool access come through the condo association, so the ownership stays genuinely low-maintenance. Buyers looking at this price point should also see Heritage Grove and Britton Place nearby, along with everything in Voorhees under $400K.
Schools are Voorhees Township for elementary and middle, then Eastern Regional High School through the Eastern Camden County Regional district. Units here trade more actively than anywhere else in the township's attached market, so there is usually something available — but condition varies widely between a renovated unit and one that has not been touched, and that difference is most of the price spread.
