Mid-sixties colonials on New England streets south of Kresson Road — live from the MLS.
Kresson Woods sits in the 08034 section of Cherry Hill Township, immediately south of Kresson Road and just east of Brace Road. The streets are Provincetown Road, Provincetown Circle, Portsmouth Road, Salem Road, Plymouth Drive and Mansfield Boulevard North. It is a compact neighborhood — a handful of streets, detached houses on their own lots, no association and no gate.
The street names were chosen with a theme and they hold it. Provincetown, Portsmouth, Salem and Plymouth — four New England places on one small street grid in Camden County. Cherry Hill neighborhoods are named after apple varieties, racetracks, English colleges, American presidents and Florida resort towns; this one went with colonial New England, and the housing that went up underneath the signs matched the pitch.
Which is the real story here: the form is remarkably consistent. Six of the seven houses in the recent record are Colonials, built between 1964 and 1966. Most Cherry Hill neighborhoods of this vintage are a grab bag of splits, bi-levels and ranches thrown up by whoever was building that season. Kresson Woods was built as one thing and stayed that way, which means a buyer touring here is comparing houses rather than comparing house types — two stories, formal layout, bedrooms upstairs, on every street.
The size holds up too. Four bedrooms is the standard and five appears on multiple records, with two-and-a-half baths as the near-universal configuration — a proper mid-sixties family house rather than a starter. One record runs a single full bath on a four-bedroom, which is the exception in a neighborhood that otherwise built the extra bath in from the start. Ranges here land in the upper half of the township's mid-century detached market, and buyers who want more ground than the neighborhood offers generally widen out to the larger-acreage listings township-wide.
Two names to keep straight, and they are easy to cross. Kressonshire is a different community entirely — newer construction over in 08003 on Kresson Road and Lark Lane, a different decade and a different product from these sixties colonials. They share a road name and nothing else. The wider new construction market in Cherry Hill is where that distinction actually matters, because the township is built out and building here means a last open lot rather than a community.
Schools are Cherry Hill Township Public Schools, and the listings here carry Cherry Hill High School West — the first question asked about any address in this township, answered on the listing rather than guessed off a map. Bortons Mill Road and Rockingham Road run off the northeast corner toward Barclay's western streets, and Hunt Tract sits north across Kresson Road. Kresson Road itself runs you east toward Evesham and west to Haddonfield in minutes, with the Haddonfield-Berlin Road retail strip immediately west. The recently sold homes across the township are the clearest read on where this tier actually settles.
