Detached four-bedroom houses on the bird streets off Kresson Road in Cherry Hill's 08003 — live from the MLS.
Willowdale occupies a large piece of the 08003 section of Cherry Hill Township, south of Kresson Road and west of Springdale, with woods along the western edge toward the turnpike. It is one of the biggest detached neighborhoods in this part of the township — not a pocket of a dozen houses but a full residential grid of curving streets that takes several minutes to drive end to end.
The streets are the giveaway, and once you know them you always know where you are. Lark Lane, Bobwhite Drive, Blue Jay Drive, Seagull Lane, Eagle Lane, Heron Drive, Robin Lake Drive, Owl Lane and Cardinal Lake Drive — birds, nearly the whole way across the neighborhood — joined by Crane Drive, Heartwood Drive, Willowdale Drive, West Point Drive, Concord Lane and Liberty Bell Drive. One search caution that matters here: Cardinal Lake Drive and Cardinal Lane are two different streets in two different neighborhoods, with the Cardinal Lane side belonging to Timber Cove just east. Key the subdivision, not the street name.
Construction ran through the mid-sixties into the early seventies, with a few houses arriving later in the decade. The standard house is a four-bedroom with two and a half baths, somewhere between about two thousand and twenty-eight hundred square feet, and five-bedroom versions with three or three and a half baths turn up regularly. Style varies more than the size does: Colonial is the dominant form, with Ranch/Rambler, Split Level, Split Foyer, Bi-Level, Traditional and Contemporary all present. That mix is typical of a neighborhood built out over several years by more than one builder, and it means the houses read as individual without being unpredictable — the footprints and lots are consistent even where the elevations are not. Garages and basements are close to universal.
These are detached fee simple houses on their own lots with no homeowners association — no monthly fee, no architectural approval, no shared common area. Lots are generous and the tree cover is mature at this age, so the interior streets feel considerably more private than the size of the neighborhood suggests. Pools are common on these lots; the township's pool home searches are the quickest way to see which are listed at any given moment.
Schools are Cherry Hill Township Public Schools, and Willowdale is one of the few neighborhoods in the township where the answer is not in question: the records here consistently name Cherry Hill High School East. East-or-West is the first thing asked about any Cherry Hill address, and in most neighborhoods it takes an address-by-address check — here it does not. For buyers comparing nearby, Ravenswood and Kressonshire sit east across Kresson Road at a similar level, and Olde Springs is the other large detached option in this corner. Kresson Road runs north toward Route 70 and the Route 73 corridor, with the turnpike and 295 interchanges a short drive west. The recently sold homes across Cherry Hill are the clearest read on where this tier actually settles.
