This beautiful and expansive home was constructed by a private builder, that brings a special level of care and thoroughness to the quality of a home. Welcome to a home that offers space on a truly impressive scale, inside and out. With more than 4,200 square feet of living space, nearly 2,000 additional square feet of finished basement, and a beautiful setting on just over half an acre, there’s room here to live, work, entertain, and spread out comfortably. The brick front creates a stately backdrop for the beautiful walk-up and welcoming entry. Step inside the two-story foyer and you immediately get a sense of the home’s openness and scale, highlighted by a graceful curved staircase and generous hardwood flooring throughout much of the main level. At the heart of the home is the expansive kitchen, remodeled in 2019 and centered around an oversized island with plenty of room to gather. It opens naturally to the dramatic family room with its soaring cathedral ceiling and fireplacea space that feels equally suited to a quiet evening at home or a house full of family and friends. The main level continues with a formal dining room, living room, and one of my favorite spaces in the home: a wonderful den surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors in. There’s also a separate first-floor office offering flexibility for working from home, a study, hobby room, or whatever best fits your lifestyle. Upstairs, the primary suite is a destination of its own, with an ensuite bath, dressing area, and walk-in closets. A second bedroom enjoys its own attached bath, while two additional bedrooms complete the upper level. And then there’s the lower level. With nearly 2,000 square feet of finished space, “basement” hardly seems like the right word. It adds an entirely new dimension to the home, with tremendous flexibility for recreation, entertaining, fitness, hobbies, guests, or simply having room for everyone to do their own thing. Four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, nearly 6,200 square feet of finished space, and a little over half an acre—all in Moorestown. This is a home with the space to accommodate the way you live today, and the flexibility to change right along with you.

4 Beds ⋅ 3 Baths ⋅ 3,617 SqFt. ⋅ 0.62 Acres ⋅ NJBL2121284 MLS ⋅ 41 DOM ⋅ PENDING Status
Timeless architecture and more than a century of character define 310 East Central Avenue. Within walking distance of Main Street, this thoughtfully expanded residence blends the warmth and craftsmanship of a classic home with the comfort and functionality of modern living. A two-story addition created a generous kitchen across the back of the house, an exceptional primary suite, and second-floor laundry, while thoughtful updates complement the architectural character throughout. The result is a move-in-ready, 4-bedroom, 3-full-bath Moorestown home where the next chapter can begin with living, not a renovation. The kitchen is central to that transformation. Extensive wood cabinetry, double wall ovens, a gas cooktop, and an island with a separate prep sink provide room to cook beyond the everyday routine. Counter seating keeps conversation close, while the window-lined breakfast area offers a place for morning coffee, a casual meal, or company that inevitably gravitates toward the kitchen. A sliding door leads to the patio, making dinner outdoors an easy extension of the evening. Upstairs, the primary suite brings the same thoughtful approach to a more personal setting. A light-filled bedroom connects through a dressing room lined with fitted wardrobe cabinetry to a bath designed with a timeless sensibility. Two furniture-style vanities, decorative tile-work, and elegant lighting accompany a soaking tub beneath the windows and a generous glass-enclosed shower. Radiant-heated floors, heated towel racks, and a TOTO washlet toilet make the attention to comfort tangible. Second-floor laundry, with a second, generously sized wardrobe adds the kind of convenience that becomes indispensable once it is part of your day. Throughout the home, the details that draw people to older houses remain part of the experience. New teak hardwood floors complement the rich woodwork, paneled pocket doors, and beautifully detailed staircase, bringing fresh warmth to the home’s enduring character. A brick fireplace framed by a handsome wood mantel anchors the living room, and the bay-windowed dining room provides a setting for gathering around a proper table. A separate front room offers space for a study, library, or sitting room without borrowing from the four upstairs bedrooms. Three additional bedrooms, a renovated full hall bathroom, a main-level full bath, and unfinished basement storage round out the layout. The thoughtful updates extend beyond the finishes, with a whole-house generator for backup power and an electric vehicle charger for the convenience of charging at home. Outside, open lawn and established plantings offer room to garden, gather, and enjoy time outdoors. The patio accommodates meals in the fresh air, while a curving driveway leads to a detached two-car garage. At the front, the owners brought back the covered porch that had been removed over the years, finishing it with mahogany decking—a thoughtful return of both architectural character and a welcoming place to sit. At 310 East Central Avenue, history and modern comfort do not compete; they complement one another. This is a rare opportunity to own a home with enduring character, everyday ease, and a place in one of Moorestown’s most established settings.

Upper Township

Petersburg NJ
Homes for Sale

The rural west end of Upper Township — land, quiet, and the beach still close. Live from the MLS.

Living in Petersburg

Petersburg sits in the western third of Upper Township, and it is a genuinely different place from the shore side of Cape May County. Out here the county stops being about beaches and becomes woods, farmland and back roads. There is no boardwalk, no crowd, and no summer traffic. What there is, and this is the point, is land — the one thing this county almost entirely ran out of.

And you have not given up the shore to get it. Ocean City is roughly twenty minutes away, Sea Isle a similar run. That combination — real acreage, real quiet, and a good beach within half an hour — does not exist anywhere else in this county at these prices. It is why the people who find their way out here tend to stay a long time.

Petersburg is the most-searched of the township's western communities, and it functions as the practical centre of that end — the place people name when they describe where they live out this way. Housing is largely single-family on generous lots, with a fair share of single-story ranches and older homes that have been in the same hands for decades. If land is the priority rather than a particular house, the township's homes on an acre or more page is the one to watch alongside this.

Rural property comes with its own questions and they are worth asking early. Well and septic rather than public water and sewer — when was the septic last inspected. Wetlands mapping, because a good deal of this end of the county is protected and the buildable portion of a parcel can be much smaller than its acreage suggests. Zoning, if you have a barn, a workshop or a business in mind. And the honest one: how far is the drive for groceries, for school, for the hospital. It is farther than most buyers picture, and that suits some people perfectly and frustrates others.

Inventory is thin and irregular out here — a handful of listings at a time, with stretches of nothing. That is the market rather than a search problem. Shop Petersburg alongside Tuckahoe and Steelmantown next door; they share a character and a price band, and the right property turns up in whichever one has something that month.

Because so little trades, asking prices vary widely and the sold record is the only reliable guide. The recent Upper Township closings show what land out here has actually been bringing, just listed shows what came on this week, and the township market report puts the trend behind it. If Petersburg is where you want to be, being set up for alerts beats checking back — when one comes up here it does not last.
