Silver Lake Condos for Sale
One-bedroom flats in a 55+ elevator building on Aura Road in Clayton. Live from the MLS.
Living in Silver Lake
Silver Lake Academy House is one building at 100 Aura Road, and that single fact explains most of what makes it different from everything else in Clayton. It is not a community spread across streets — it is a four-story garden building on five landscaped acres, with an elevator serving every floor and a secure entry system at the main door. Every listing you see here is a unit number at the same address. That concentration is the whole point: no lawn, no driveway, no exterior to maintain, and neighbors on the other side of the wall rather than across a yard.
The units are consistent. One bedroom throughout, one or two baths, roughly nine hundred square feet, laid out as open floor plans with nine-foot-plus ceilings and oversized windows that make them read considerably larger than the square footage suggests. Washer and dryer hookups are in the unit. There are no basements and no garages — parking is a shared lot. Kitchens and baths vary quite a bit from unit to unit depending on when the last owner updated, and that, more than size, is what separates one listing here from the next.
Ownership is condominium, the community is age-restricted at 55, and the monthly association covers common area maintenance, exterior building maintenance, lawn care, snow removal and trash. The shared spaces are the reason people choose the building: a clubhouse with a gas marble fireplace, a game room, a fully equipped fitness center, and separate men's and women's locker rooms with cedar saunas. For a buyer who wants to lock the door and travel, this is the most self-contained option in the borough.
Clayton's other age-restricted product is a completely different proposition. Villages at Aberdeen is detached single-level houses on their own lots — two and three bedrooms, garages, and in its newer phase two-story layouts with lofts and finished basements — with the association handling lawn and snow but the house itself yours to maintain. One building versus your own front door is the choice most buyers are actually making, and they tend to know which one they want inside a single showing. The borough's full 55+ inventory puts both in front of you at once.
The location works harder than the address suggests. Aura Road sits just west of North Broad Street near Clayton High School, so the downtown, the library and the borough's shops are a short drive rather than a trip. Route 47 runs through town toward Glassboro and Rowan University one way and Vineland the other, Route 55 is minutes away, and from there Philadelphia, Atlantic City and the shore points are all a straightforward drive. Turnover here is steady but the building is small, so units do not sit long — worth watching the newest Clayton listings and where values are heading if nothing is available today.
