The top of the Williamstown market — explore the latest from the MLS.
Living in Hunter Woods
Hunter Woods was built from 1993 to 1998 in Williamstown, Monroe Township, on Whispering Woods Drive, Bluestem Avenue, Teaberry Avenue, Alpine Lane and a run of courts — Currant, Sundrop, Cornus, Carex, Salix, Heath, Mallard and Rockcrest. Four bedrooms and full basements on essentially every home, garages standard, two and a half to three and a half baths, colonials with contemporaries and traditionals mixed in. Public water and sewer.
What separates Hunter Woods from everything else in the township is the land. Lots here run from about a third of an acre up past a full acre, with a good number at half an acre and better. For comparison, Candlewood sits near three-tenths and Chestnut Green closer to a quarter. Same four-bedroom colonial idea, considerably more ground under it.
The basements are the other thing. Most of Williamstown does not have them — the 1970s communities largely skipped them, the townhome communities substitute a finished lower level, and the 55+ communities have none at all. Hunter Woods has them throughout, which puts it in a narrow group in this township alongside Glen Eyre at the Arbours.
One current curiosity: a new home is going up on Sundrop Court — a colonial/craftsman on an infill lot in a community that finished building thirty years ago. New construction inside an established neighborhood at this price point almost never happens here.
Four Beds. Full Basement.
Not most homes here. All of them.
