Village Green row homes and the porch-front twins of West End and East End — attached homes in the county seat, live from the MLS.
If you came to this page expecting a townhome community — a planned development, uniform floor plans, an association — Woodbury does not have one. What it has instead is something most buyers never think to look for, and for the right person it is a considerably better deal.
Woodbury's attached market is overwhelmingly a twin market. Almost everything that trades here as an attached home is a twin or semi-detached house — an old city house that happens to share one wall with its neighbor. Same porch, same grid street, same era as the detached stock around it. One shared wall instead of two, and no association telling you what color the door can be.
And these are not small. This is the part that surprises people: Woodbury twins run to four and five bedrooms and well past two thousand square feet, with garages and full basements. A twin in East End or West End can be a larger house than a detached home in a newer township twenty minutes south, at a price that would not buy the newer home's driveway. If you have been reading "twin" as "starter," this market will change your mind. There are compact ones too — two bedrooms under a thousand square feet — so the range inside this small segment is unusually wide. Two listings a few hundred dollars apart can be entirely different houses.
Basements are close to universal here, which is the through-line in every old river-grid town in this county and the opposite of what attached housing means in the newer townships. Full cellars, real ceiling height, and in most cases a detached garage set back off the driveway. Storage, a workshop, or a lower level you could finish are all on the table at this price point, which is genuinely rare.
Village Green, off North Maple Street, is the one place in the city with true row-home product — interior and end-of-row units, the closest thing Woodbury has to a conventional townhouse. It is worth knowing by name because it is the only address that answers a search for that specific thing. Confusingly, Village Green also holds some large twins, so the community name alone will not tell you which product a listing is; check the structure type before you get attached.
Beyond that, most attached homes in Woodbury carry no subdivision name at all — Chestnut, High, Davis, Curtis and streets like them, listed with nothing in the community field, because the city was laid out generations before anyone platted a development. West End is where the most trades happen and where the porch-front twins concentrate; East End produced the largest attached home in this pull. The practical consequence is that you cannot shop this market by community name the way you would in a township. You shop it by street, and you watch for it, because a handful of homes a year is the whole supply.
Schools are run by the city itself — Woodbury Public Schools, with West End Memorial Elementary sitting inside the West End neighborhood, which is one reason families with young children keep circling back to those blocks. Broad Street carries Route 45 through the middle of town, Route 295 is minutes out, and the Walt Whitman and Commodore Barry bridges put Philadelphia and Delaware County within a short commute. Because inventory is thin, a standing alert beats a weekend search. Also worth a look: 4+ bedroom homes across the city, which is where the largest twins surface alongside the detached colonials, ranch homes if single-level matters, and homes under $300K, which in Woodbury returns real houses rather than the leftovers.

Older houses take a sharper eye than new construction — what the bones are worth, and what a block is really trading at. No portal guesswork.
