Living in Wedgewood Greens

Wedgewood Greens was built in 1987 and 1988 in Washington Township, on the Sewell side, along Greenleigh Drive, Greenleigh Circle and Knoll Court. Three and four bedrooms, two and a half baths, contemporaries with colonials and traditionals mixed in, and garages and full basements on every home.

Washington Township has four communities carrying the Wedgewood name, and this is the newest and the strongest of them. Wedgewood proper went up from 1965 through the 1970s and has almost no basements. Wedgewood Farms followed in the late 1970s, Wedgewood Forest through the 1980s, and Wedgewood Greens last. The prices follow that order.

The land is part of why. Lots here run from about a quarter acre up to nearly half — and the half-acre parcels are the largest in any Wedgewood community. In a group of neighborhoods that are otherwise similar in style and vintage, the ground is what separates the top from the rest.

This is a small community and very little comes up in a given year. If Wedgewood Greens specifically is where you want to be, it is worth being set up to hear about a listing early — and worth being precise about which Wedgewood you mean, because a search on the name alone returns all four plus Wedgewood Drive, a street inside Bells Lake that is not part of any of them.

Schools are Washington Township for the entire township, which means Washington Township High School — one district throughout, so there is no sending-district question here. The recently sold homes are the best read on where this end of the market sits.
