Wedgewood is one of the largest and busiest neighborhoods in Washington Township, built from the mid-1960s through the late 1970s. The streets include Forrest Drive, Abbington Lane, Trent Road, Cranford Road, Bryant Road, Hurffville Road, Golfview Drive, Bently Drive, Daytona Avenue, Nottingham Way, Sheffield Lane, Cambridge Road, Massey Drive, Hastings Court, Brae Court, Avon Court, Carol Court, Fern Road and Cummings Court. Three to five bedrooms, on public water and public sewer.

The build standard here is the one to know before you tour. Garages are on nearly every home. Basements are on almost none. That is the same pattern as Heritage Valley and Peppertree — and the reverse of Bells Lake, built in the same era, where basements are everywhere and garages are rare. If a basement is a requirement, this large neighborhood narrows very quickly.

The land is where Wedgewood is genuinely inconsistent, and the spread is wide: lots run from about an eighth of an acre to three quarters. That is a sixfold difference inside one neighborhood, and it does not sort by street in any way you could predict. Two houses of similar size and vintage a few doors apart can sit on very different parcels, and here that drives value more than square footage does.

The styles run the full period catalog — ranchers, split levels, bi-levels, colonials, traditionals and contemporaries — which combined with a fifteen-year build window means no two Wedgewood listings are really comparable without checking both the year and the lot.

Searching it takes some care. Wedgewood spans three postal names across two ZIP codes — Blackwood and Turnersville in 08012, and Sewell in 08080. Filter by any one and you see a slice of the neighborhood. The municipality is Washington Township throughout.

Two naming traps worth knowing. The township has three other communities with this name — Wedgewood Farms, Wedgewood Forest and Wedgewood Greens — and separately, Wedgewood Drive is a street inside Bells Lake, not part of this neighborhood at all. Searching the name alone returns five different things.

Schools are Washington Township throughout, which means Washington Township High School — one district for the whole township, so there is no sending-district question here. The recently sold homes are the best read on where this end of the market sits.
