Plaza Grande Condos for Sale
Cherry Hill's only 55+ community — inside Garden State Park, live from the MLS.
Living at Plaza Grande
Plaza Grande is the only age-restricted community in Cherry Hill. Not one of a handful — the only one. If you are looking for 55+ living in this township, your search begins and ends here, and knowing that up front saves weeks of chasing options that do not exist. It sits inside the Garden State Park redevelopment in the 08002 zip, along Garden Park Boulevard, Crescent Way, Citation Lane and Plaza Grande itself. You will see it in the MLS as both "Plaza Grande" and "The Plaza Grande" — same community, two labels, which is worth knowing if you are searching on your own and wondering why results keep splitting.
The single most important thing about these buildings has nothing to do with finishes. There are no stairs and no steps anywhere in the path from the parking area to your front door — full elevator access, wide doorways, genuinely wheelchair accessible rather than nominally so. Most attached homes in Cherry Hill's condo market are walk-ups, and for a buyer thinking ten or fifteen years ahead, that distinction is the whole decision. It is also what protects your resale, because the next buyer will be asking the same question you are.
The homes themselves are larger than people expect from a condo — two bedrooms and two and a half baths running up past two thousand square feet in the bigger layouts. Open-concept living and dining, hardwood through the entry and hallways, kitchens with forty-two-inch cabinetry, granite and a tile backsplash, a breakfast area and a separate formal dining space, and sliding doors to a private balcony reachable from both. Most plans include a den that works as a home office, media room or reading lounge. The primary suite carries a walk-in closet and a spa-style bath with dual vanities, soaking tub and separate shower — and here is the detail that sells this community to anyone who hosts family: the second bedroom is frequently also ensuite, with its own full bath and walk-in. Add a real laundry room with full-size machines, a dedicated indoor garage space, a private storage area, and an indoor mailroom so you are never walking out to a box in February.
The amenity package is where Plaza Grande stops resembling a condo association and starts resembling a club. The clubhouse carries tennis and pickleball courts, bocce, a sauna, a golf simulator and an indoor putting green. There is a full fitness center and a massage room. The game room has a pool table, shuffleboard, a bar, televisions and a coffee station. There are dedicated work rooms, social areas and event spaces, and a glass-enclosed lobby so packages and mail arrive securely rather than sitting outside a door. Running through all of it is a full calendar of social events, clubs and exercise classes — which, for buyers moving here after decades in a single-family house, tends to matter more than any of the hardware.
Then there is the walk. The Garden State Park shopping district is inside the development, not a drive away: Trader Joe's, Cheesecake Factory, Brio, Nordstrom Rack, Talbots and the rest of the shops and restaurants, all on foot. Philadelphia and every major highway are straightforward from here. There is nowhere else in Cherry Hill where an age-restricted buyer can leave the car parked for a whole weekend and not feel stranded, and that is the thing residents mention first.
One practical note that matters more in a 55+ building than almost anywhere else: ask about the association. Plaza Grande has been putting money back into the property — freshly power-washed exteriors, windows, decks and newly paved roads are all recent — and some sellers have already paid their share of recent special assessments in full. Whether that is true of the specific unit you are looking at is a question to ask before you write, not after, and it is exactly the kind of thing a listing photo will never tell you.
Last, the names in this corner of town confuse nearly everyone, agents included. Park Place at Garden State Park is Plaza Grande's immediate neighbor inside the same redevelopment, with similar elevator buildings and a similar location — but it is not age-restricted and is open to buyers of any age. And plain Park Place, over on Park Place Drive, is a separate older gated garden-condo community with no connection to the racetrack site whatsoever. Three communities, three buyers, three very similar names. Everything currently for sale at Plaza Grande is above, straight from the MLS — and because this is the only 55+ address in the township, inventory here moves on its own schedule. If you want to hear about a unit the day it lists rather than the week after, that is worth a call.
